GM to Lay Off Hundreds
Detroit General Motors Corporation fail in sales in the billions of dollars, and now is forced to lay off hundreds of U.S employees. GM spokesman Robert Herta says, "cuts would involve about 500 workers at around 30 locations across the U.S." GM supposedly losed nearly $10.6 billion in 2005, and stocks fell 2 cents to $22.91 a share within the last week. GM currently employes about 113,000 hourly workers across the United States. The cuts would save General Motors billions, and they feel would bring them back to profitability. But, is money worth the lives that could potentially be destroyed by the layoffs. People's incomes would decrease dramatically by loosing the annual income earned by the family member employed through Gerneral Motors Corporation.
