Law Professor Bans Laptops in Class

A University of Memphis, Tenn., law professor has banned the use of laptop computers from her classroom, and students are totally against the movement. Professor June Entman says, "my main concern is that students are so busy keyboarding at their laptops, that they cannot think and analyze what is happening during class discussion." Some students believe that she has no right to take away something they own and is beneficial to them in learning the material at hand. Student Cory Winsett says, "If I must continue without my laptop, I will transfer to another school. I won't be able to keep up with class lecture if I must rely on hand-written notes, which are incomplete and less organized." The students and Memphis University have a difficult conflict that must be solved before students begin to leave their campus.
